Thomas and Friends Take-n-Play is a portable die-cast metal system. It replaced RC2's Take Along Thomas range after Fisher-Price was appointed by HiT Entertainment as the global master toy licensee in 2009. It features redesigned Take Along vehicles and existing plastic gray track, as well as an assortment of new fold-up portable play sets. In 2012, production moved from China to Thailand and items were redesigned. Vehicles were redesigned again in 2014 with unidirectional smart magnets being replaced by larger bipolar magnets. The Take-n-Play range was discontinued the end of 2016 and replaced by the Adventures range.
